Remembering Tekla Knös

It has become quiet around the Swedish band Tekla Knös. This is because the band's bassist and singer, Markus, has died all of a sudden some months ago. And although this is a very sad thing of course, Elof of Etik och Moral Records has now got down to work in order to release some new recordings of Tekla Knös. These four songs had been recorded by the band shortly before Markus fell ill. A fund-raising project has been started and will hopefully bring in the money that is necessary to make the release possible. I have asked Elof a few questions about this.

Why have you decided to get involved with a new record of Tekla Knös?
Well, it wasn't very much of a decision, since I was a good friend with Markus and our band (Svarteskerm) was released by his label Etik och Moral Records. When Markus died, Tekla Knös wanted and felt it was natural for me to take over the label and continue the work Markus had started. I'm honored.

What do you like most about this band?
Tekla Knös is the first really punk band in Sweden with a Christian message. They started in 1997 and have continued to promote the Kingdom of God since then. They have been controversial though, in both church and in the punk scene. In church given their opinions about institutional churches, their Anarchistic-Christian message and in the punk scene since they are Christian. It's funny how the church criticized them for being TOO LITTLE churchy, and the punk scene for being TOO MUCH. Hehe. That's punk for you right there!

How can fans help to make this record happen?
Well, it depends on the fans to make this record happen. It's you who will release it, we simply need the money to press it and release it the way Markus would have wanted! So, if you have any money, please give a contribution. If you give a 10€ or more you also make sure you'll get a record!
