Würzmischung

Eine gepfefferte Veröffentlichung tischen uns Dragged Out aus Schottland auf. Denn die Band hat diese Woche ihre „Complete Discography“ zum Download bereit gestellt. Teilweise sind die Sachen schon vor längerer Zeit auf Handmade Overkill erschienen. Der Titel klingt reichlich vollmundig für sage und schreibe sieben Songs, die das Opus umfasst. Aber das ist halt alles, was die Band jemals aufgenommen hat. Nach 10 Minuten ist der Spaß auch schon wieder vorbei. In der Kürze liegt ja bekanntlich die Würze. Apropos „Spaß vorbei“ - Auch das menschliche Leben dauert nicht ewig. Das kürzeste Stück von Dragged Out geht gerade einmal vier Sekunden und heißt „Carpe Vitae“. Das ist Punkerlatein („Scheiß auf die Grammatik!“) für „Nutze dein Leben“. Denn die Zeit der Menschen auf dieser Erde ist ähnlich kurz wie ein Punk-Rock-Song und damit viel zu schade, um sie zu verplempern. Und dennoch blicken die Punks aus Schottland mit Zuversicht in die Zukunft, denn sie vertrauen darauf, dass mit dem Tod noch nicht alles aus ist. „Carpe Vitae“ zitiert einen Vers aus dem Philipperbrief, der sinngemäß sagt: das Beste kommt erst noch. Auf alle Fälle ist das Tütchen mit der „Complete Discography“ von Dragged Out eine gute Würzmischung, mit der sich die Suppe des Lebens auch im Hier und Jetzt schonmal kräftig aufpeppen lässt.

Dragged Out from Scotland have dished up a peppered release for us. This week the band have made available their "Complete Discography" for download. Some of the songs had been released on Handmade Overkill a while ago. The title sounds a bit full-bodied with regard to the incredible number of seven songs the album contains. But this is just everything that the band has ever recorded. Within 10 minutes the fun is already over again. But there is spice in brevity as is well known [that's a German saying]. Speaking about "fun to be over" - Human life, too, does not last forever. The shortest song by Dragged Out takes only about four seconds and is called "Carpe Vitae". This is Punk-Latin ("f**k the grammar!") and means "Make use of your life!" Because time of a man on this earth is about as short as a punk rock song and thus much too precious to fritter it away. And still the punks from Scotland are looking towards the future confidently, because they believe that death is not the end to everything. "Carpe Vitae" quotes a verse from the letter to the Philippians that says basically: The best things will not come until then. However, the packet of the "Complete Discography" by Dragged Out is a good blend of herbs to spice up the soup of life right here and now.
